With over 60% of infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm (IAAA) repairs being candidates for repair using endovascular techniques, 1 a greater proportion of open aneurysm repair is being performed on complex juxtarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms (JAAAs) and pararenal abdominal aortic aneurysms (PAAAs). 2 As midterm results after endovascular repair of these anatomically challenging aneurysms

2018-07-01 Proximal clamp position for open repair of juxtarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm (JR-AAA) is suprarenal, supra-superior mesenteric, or supraceliac. While RP and TP approaches have previously been compared for physiological reasons, there are currently no randomized controlled trials comparing these methods from an anatomical perspective. Abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA or triple A) is a localized enlargement of the abdominal aorta such that the diameter is greater than 3 cm or more than 50% larger than normal. They usually cause no symptoms, except during rupture. Occasionally, abdominal, back, or leg pain may occur. Large aneurysms can sometimes be felt by pushing on the abdomen.

Abstract. An abdominal aortic aneurysm is one of the most severe manifestations of atherosclerosis, and their number has a steady tendency to increase. Due to the most complicated surgical technique, from infrarenal aneurysms a group of juxtarenal aneurysms was singled out.

Loose aortic cheese was removed grossly. When this was completed a 18 Dacron graft was then sewed in place with 3-0 Prolene and an end-to-end anastomosis. Pledgetted-stitches were utilized and clamp time was less than 20 minutes suprarenal. After this was completed, the clamp was moved down the aorta. The anastomosis was tested and deemed hemostatic.
